I grew up on a farm in North Cornwall and spent many happy hours in the fields and woods surrounding my childhood home. I studied languages at University in London and worked in the travel industry for a while before returning to Cornwall and retraining to become a primary school teacher, mainly trying to get the kids outside as much as possible and running a gardening club!
Nature was always calling to me so I went to night school to study garden design, garden maintenance and garden history at Duchy College, Cornwall, with the design element taught by Chelsea Gold medal winner John Moreland.
I finally plucked up the courage to leave teaching and began creating and maintaining gardens in 2003, from small gardens to the landscape design and planting of high-end new properties in Rock, Constantine Bay and surrounding areas of Cornwall.
I relocated to Bristol in 2014 with my photographer husband Mark and our three wonderful children, where I worked for the BBC as a Horticulturist on The Great Chelsea Garden Challenge, Gardeners' World, RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court Flower Show and Tatton Park Flower Show, and most recently as Horticultural Producer on the brand new BBC show made by Remarkable TV - Your Garden Made Perfect and also on C4's The Great Garden Revolution.
In 2022 we moved to beautiful West Cornwall and I am now working freelance for Landscape Architects and Garden Designers, as a Planting Designer and Landscape Assistant and offering bespoke Garden Consultations.

My husband is an award-winning photographer who specialises in high quality professional interior photography. His clients are hotels, designers, kitchen companies, furniture companies, interior catalogues, corporate businesses, restaurants & magazines. He became an interiors photographer from a fashion photography background working in London, Paris, New York & Los Angeles which led to a love of interiors, design and hotels.
His photography style uses daylight and ambient light with a strong use of symmetry and design detail, often using a piece of furniture as a model within an interior environment. He likes his images to tell a story, to be suggestive, pure & a little bit funky! He shoots at the highest digital or film quality. He mainly covers the South West region.
