Affordable garden design in Bristol

Not everyone can afford to employ the skills of a fully accredited, experienced Garden Designer, the likes of which you’d find at Chelsea Flower Show. But a well-designed garden should be accessible to all so I’ve created a service that fills the space in between! 

With 12 years experience of practical gardening, designing and planting gardens I can help you create your perfect garden. Large gardens or those with complicated level changes require the skills of a surveyor to plot the dimensions and levels of your space. This can also be done by a Landscape Designer. This information is usually then used in CAD (computer-aided design) which can give multiple views of the garden and be relatively easily adjusted to suit the clients needs. All of this is time-consuming and highly skilled work and hopefully explains why Garden Designers earn a good fee for their work. I’m certainly not in any way knocking their charges as I feel they earn them. But, as I say, this isn’t for everyone.

If you have a typical urban garden, be it front garden, back garden, courtyard, balcony or terrace, what you may need is someone with experience to help you visualise and create the space to suit your needs. Hello, this is me!

I have a keen eye for the best use of space so I can visualise and help you see how your outdoor area can be best used. You may be a keen gardener but only have a tiny space; a couple who love entertaining; a book-lover who wants a cosy hideaway on their balcony or a family that needs different areas for all members of the family. I can help you with all of these. 

You can book me for either a 2 hour consultation or a half-day depending on your needs and budget (see Advice, planting and design page).  In just a couple of hours I can help you with ideas for how to use the space, what to buy, what to get rid of and how to arrange the space. I can advise on plants, containers and furniture. With half a day we can draw up some sketches of how your garden will look and some planting ideas. If you want to go further I can help source a good landscaper, project manage the landscaping, source pots and plants, and plant your new space. 

So you see, you have options for all budgets, from general advice to a whole new space to enjoy.
